Gas Turbines — A much maligned power source.
Sounding like the wheezings of a deadly dragon and producing freaky vehicles that used too much fuel – we are glad that some madcap engineers wanted to try them in racing cars.
This snoop-nosed rig is the mid-sixties BRM-Rover collab – one of which Graham Hill and Jackie Stewart drove at Le Mans.
It’s kind of reminiscent of Ferrari’s 250 LM (what with those intakes on the rear wings) – and there’s also something of the Vauxhall Firenza about it in the hooter region.
We love the tacked together feel of the bodywork – and the way that rear section seems dominated by those utilitarian lamps and the elegant arches.
