1911 Fiat Record Attempt – The Beast of Turin
pics & video Stefan Marjoram
Great video bouncing around the blogs this morning.
It focusses on a true automotive animal – a 300 HP Land Speed Record attempting FIAT built in 1911 – and the crew of Englishman tasked with the mission of getting the thing rebuilt and running again.
Apparently it made world record attempts both at the Brooklands Circuit and on the beach at Saltburn by sea. She was supposed to ran up the hill at the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year, too – but didn’t make it. Stefan’s film documents the first firing of The Beast.
The best bit of the video is the looks in the eyes of the mechanics when they get the thing fired up.
Watch this space for more from the talented Mr Stefan Marjoram.
