One of the best Fords ever made.
I had a 1965 Cortina GT. Goodwood Green, 51/2Js factory fitted. Changed the gearbox to the Corsair 2000e at about 15,000 miles.
I was 19 when I bought this car and was living in Stanmore but working in Liverpool so I did about 750 miles a week in it for about a year. When I sold it,it had done 129,000 trouble free miles and believe me this car was thrashed and crashed, twice. Only thing I replaced in the 3 years apart from exhausts, tyres and brakes was the dynamo, that was rescimmed.
One of my favorite memories, was racing to work, from Southport to Aintree, with a bloke who worked at the same place and had a Sunbeam Rapier, I never lost out to this bloke but arrived at work in a bit of a state and would need a couple of Fags in order to be able to start.
