Friday Bike Crush: Crowe Customs BMW R80

Cars

We’ve been on the verge of buying a BMW motorcycle for a couple of years now, with a view to stripping it back and slowly creating a piece of custom loveliness for hard-ish duty travel missions on the backroads.

Stumbling across Crowe Customs’ beautiful stripped back hauler this morning on Bike Exif, we’re a little gutted someone has gone and built the bike of our utilitarian dreams.

With a new set of shocks and a whole lot of simplifying and stripping back, Crowe’s aesthetic here is one of minimalism – and contrasting the Beemer’s legendary mechanicity with the lightest of touches really works beautifully.

There’s apparently some real engineering innovation too here, but it’s to do with throttles and master cylinders which, frankly, we don’t really understand.

And fitting the bike with a fully workable mount for a bicycle is pure inspiration.
