Ive had both and enjoyed them but the French car is something really special over the VW. VW Beetle and splitty !! is that why everything is front engine front drive today.
Granted the 2CV is not as solid feeling as the beetle but its more comfortable,more stable,more versatile,easier to work on and just as reliable plus more economical.

Always a bit of a project car but once up and running a super smooth, mobile lounge, slow on the uptake but gliding along in the unloved slab sided gas guzzler is sublime.
