Volvo’s wedgy dutchman was never the glamour-puss of the brand’s back catalogue.
But this blown mutant, complete with X1/9-like black vinyl rollover bar – just might have taken the platform into realms of the desirable.
Alas, safety concerns over that roll-bar meant that the cabrio version of the Volvo 480 never saw the light of day – apart from this and a handful of other prototype hacks.
