" There's been a lot of feel-good commentary in the Motor Sport press ruminating on how racing just could be the saviours of the motor industry and the planet as we know it, by shaking down, then trickling down the expensive "
DB Le Mans
Stumbled across this – another car, in a lifetime of spotting cars, that we had never heard of.
The DB Le Mans was apparently a French creation wrought in fibreglass and motored by a twin pot boxer engine by Panhard.
You can see where the makers sought to pitch the idea of a nippy lightweight sportster – reaching out to the sort of dashing market of rare groovers – who might have partaken in an Alfa Duetto or a baby Facel if they had not had a penchent for mini fins and weaved panels.
The Le Mans moniker may have been a trifle audacious considering the twinny motor. But, by all acounts it was a fun ride all the same.
Probably not to be spotted at a kerb near you any time soon.
