Dealerships Past
Just as cars evolve and morph and add to design history – so do the places where they are bought and sold.
So, it was nice when recently we stumbled across a collection of images from car dealerships past – a small selection of which you see gathered here before you.
It’s a bit of a predictable axe for us to grind – but it’s obvious that corporate convergence has erased the individual character of not only most of the cars manufactured by the mainstream companies – but the point of sale niceness of these cathedrals of auto consumption has been drained – in favour of slick globally identical identities.
Surely its time for a bit of individuality to be reintroduced to those dealer networks. Come on!
