Fiat 131 Racing

Cars

We’ve mentioned our penchant for the three box format many a time.

But no car has stuck to its purity than Fiat’s 131 series.

In 1978, a 2-door sporting version known as Racing , or Mirafiori Sport in the UK, was launched.  It came with a 115 PS twin cam engine, different headlights and grille, a few choice spoilers and extended wheel arches. The drivetrain was augmented by a short-throw 5 speed gearbox.

My mate’s older brother had one – and this meant that we got a ride every now and then.

Something about this car resonates more strongly than any other  car from the era.

It’s Thursday, we’re in love.
