We know we’re repeating ourselves a little here but please just take a look at this 1955 Maserati A6G/2000 Spyder Zagato. For us, it is the definition of mechanical beauty.

The fact that it’s being offered for sale in what RM auctions are billing as the ultimate auction, in which they will focus on the automobile as art is wholly appropriate.

The detail is delectable.
The detail is delectable.

The event is due to drop in New York City next week in collaboration with Sothebys, and this car is just one of a constellation of incredible pieces of high auto art.

This is the original car unveiled at the 1955 Geneva salon, which was baggsied by Argentinian leader Juan Peron, but sent back for some bespoke tweaks to Zagato. The big man never got to take delivery of the car: which is a shame because it is now expected to fetch close to $4 Million US!

Happy weekend. We’ll be dreaming of the dolce vita!
