Alpina D3 BiTurbo

Cars

In case you missed it earlier this year, ALPINA announced at Goodwood the on-sale date of the fastest production diesel car ever. And like all Alpina Beemers it’s got that something special that makes this an eminently desirable machine.

But the amazing thing about this car is not only the speed and the power – but the economy and emmissions figures it manages to achieve too. The D3 Bi-Turbo not only tops out at an eye-watering 173 mph, pulls away 0-62 in 4.6 seconds – but with what the press releases call ‘finely-honed bespoke engineering’, it manages to achieve a 53 mpg and CO2 emissions of just 139 g/km.

The engines in these cars produce 350 hp and a beefy 700 Nm of torque – and every Alpina car benefits from the strict attention of 50 of Alpina’s development engineers, who, working with specialist suppliers enhance not only the engine but the gearbox, cooling system, body structure, wheels, tyres, aerodynamics, suspension and interior.

You obviously pay at bit more for this premium product but man- alive – we think it’s more than worth it.
