Seat Ibiza Cupster Concept
It may make you feel old to learn that it’s been 30 years since the Seat Ibiza came into being.
If so this new concept, based on that favourite of the Seat fleet, should put a spring back in your beleaguered step.
These preview images are a taster of the birthday special due to be launched at the much vaunted Worthersee festival in Austria.
The one off Cupster is based on the Ibiza Sport Cupra and is punched along by the same 180 PS TSI engine but, as can be seen, with some major coachwork innovations.
This recut homage has no roof and a wraparound windscreen that leads the eye into its sculpted angular body-lines. It is wider, lower and generally more race car like than its original incarnation with a seating position 80mm below the original.
And when it comes to trim, Seat sure have dressed up its new kid for its older sibling’s 30th birthday party.
